A fisherman in Australia, Kit Olver says he has discovered a big piece of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane. Olver says that he found the wing at around six months after the plane went missing.
On March 8, 2014 Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 disappeared with its complement of passengers and crew-227 in total. Despite a massive search effort, the wreckage had not been located. Seventy-seven year old Olver has given permission for his story to be told in the Sydney Morning Herald; he says, “It was a hell of a wing off this big jet air plane.”
Kit Olver says he’s asked himself, “What was I thinking?” He wondered how to get out of there. Wish I never saw the thing… but there it is. It was a jet wing.” And not that of some private plane either-the latter are smaller than this one

Olver said that when he was trying to steer the part of plane up, his trawler’s engine note changed and its exhaust temperature rose. Another crew member present at the time of discovery, George Currie said that a heavy and clumsy wing would stretch out the net tearingly. Its size and color made Currie immediately recognize that this was a wing from a commercial aircraft.
The crew members not being able to bring the plane piece onto their ship left the $20, 00 net cut. said Kit Olver, that he could give authorities the coordinates of where he found the wing.
In his view, the plane part lies at a relatively shallow depth on sea floor some 55 kilometers west of South Australian town Robe. He said the location was where he trawled for fishing.
