The UK government today has named a replacement for the old BBC chairman who recently resigned in January this year over the infamous loan to ex-PM Boris. The Conservative administration has nominated former television bigwig Samir Shah for the top position in the BBC after the resignation of Richard Sharp from this post in April.
To be ratified through a parliamentary committee, Samir Shah has been appointed. This decision has significance for the BBC during unprecedented increased funding pressure and a number of media challenges facing it.

Speaking on behalf of the preferred candidate in this regard is that of Samir Shah who possesses more than forty years practical TV experience having served as head of current affairs at BBC among others.
A BBC spokesman said, “we are glad to hear that Samir Shah has become a preferred candidate of the Government to become a new Chair of BBC. We expect him to join us after all formal issues will be settled.”
Richard Sharpe quit as the chairman, after it was discovered that he facilitated an £800,000 ($1m)-dollar loan to Boris Johnson. Sharp, once an executive with Goldman Sachs, resigned amid scandal regarding him assisting lending monies to the previous prime minister.
