In what was an indication of a developing rift within the conservatives regarding immigration, UK Prime Minster Rishi Sunak stated that he had confidence in his government’s new plan on Thursday. When the immigration minister discovered that the government is planning to expel asylum seekers to Rwanda he resigned saying it was not enough.
Sunak tried to tell the right-wing Tories who wanted Britain out of the ECHR that the court couldn’t block deportations in the hurry planned news conference at Downing Street. The immigration issue has now created division among people who belong to the conservative party and could pose a danger to sunak’s leadership.
According to Rishi Sunak, the draft bill addresses any possible reason why inbound flights have never been allowed into Rwanda. According to him, there is no significant exception that he would give, with the exception that the victims can affirm on credible and conclusive proof of their genuine immediate danger of significant irreversible injury.
In response to an earlier judgment by the Supreme Court that condemned the deportation because Rwanda was considered an unsafe country, the bill will go through its first vote in the House of Commons next week.

Judges should accept that Rwanda is safe, while ministers in UK will ignore some sections of the human rights act. In its turn, the prime minister Rishi Sunak taking an aggressive position stated that British parliament has power over the matter and foreign courts should not dictate what UK can do or not.
Sunak said this bill will help in removing migrants quickly without any further maritime arrivals. He mentioned that he would see the law adopted and described this as doing the last thing.
Those opposed and human right organisations have posed new concerns regarding the suggested measures. Moreover, Rwanda has warned that it may pull out of a bilateral treaty that it had signed the previous day, in case the UK is not faithful to international law.
