Britain’s King Charles III and his wife Camilla will be breaking from tradition at their grand coronation ceremony in May, as the new monarch has chosen not to adhere to the traditional royal attire worn by past monarchs, according to The Independent.
Traditionally, monarchs have worn silk stockings and breeches during their coronation ceremonies. However, it has been reported that King Charles III may choose to forgo this tradition, and wear his military uniform instead. This decision was made after consulting with senior aides, who deemed the traditional attire to be outdated or no longer relevant.

The grand coronation ceremony of King Charles III and his wife Camilla will take place on May 6th at Westminster Abbey. The following day, a coronation concert will be held at Windsor Castle. The concert will feature an orchestra playing popular music with renowned entertainers and a special coronation choir. Additionally, buildings across the nation will be illuminated.
As per information released by Buckingham Palace, a public ballot will be held to distribute tickets, allowing several thousand members of the public to attend the coronation ceremony. On Sunday, street parties will be organized, and communities and neighbors are encouraged to come together, share food and celebrate. On Monday, people are also urged to volunteer with charities, faith and community groups, in order to pay tribute to the King’s public service and create a legacy of volunteer work.
Buckingham Palace has not yet announced which members of the royal family will be in attendance at King Charles III’s coronation. The upcoming event has been overshadowed by the release of Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir “Spare,” in which he has criticized his father, King Charles III, and other members of the royal family.
